Addie turned 1!!!

This past weekend I had my daughters birthday party. She was turning one and is obsessed with Mickey and pretty much anything Disney. I decided to throw her a Minnie Mouse party. I had so much fun planning it and making crafts for it. I can not wait until her next birthday!

I got most of the ideas for her birthday theme and for some food off of Pinterest. I had made her invitations from construction paper and some ribbon. I wanted to do her birthday on a low budge. Between all the couponing that I did and the gift cards I had earned from different apps on my phone and online I definitely was within budget.

My best friend Abby made her cake. I am so glad that she agreed to do it because I really wanted an awesome cake. It was her first time working with fondant and I think it came out FABULOUS.

I made Addie's birthday outfit and she seemed to enjoy wearing it. It was super easy to make and I am really happy with the way it turned out. It was so easy and inexpensive that I made all the kids shirts just like Addie's. Instead of leaving with a goodie bag (filled with stuff that will get thrown away or filled with a ton of candy) they got to take home a shirt and a lolly pop.

The dessert table was delicious. Addie was completely mesmerized by the chocolate fountain. For dipping I made rice krispie treats in the shape of Mickeys head. It was the first time I made rice krispie treats and I am not sure how I feel about them. I think with a lot of practice they may become easier to make. Or at least I am hoping that is the case.

By the end of the afternoon Addie was pretty pooped. She fell asleep on her Nana Julie. I was just as tired but had A LOT of clean up to do before I could take a nap. I think that the party was perfect and am very thankful for everyone that came to make the party special. I know that Addie wont remember the party at all but I will and I am very happy with the way her first birthday turned out.
